What does being part of Royalty Birth Services mean to you?

Being part of Royalty Birth Services means being part of something bigger than myself. It means showing up for families during one of the most vulnerable and transformative moments of their lives and making sure they feel seen, heard, informed, and cared for. I love being part of a team that treats birth work as both service and community.

How has being a doula changed your life?

Being a doula has taught me how powerful it is to simply be present for someone. I’ve learned that support doesn’t always mean having the perfect words or fixing something. It can mean holding a hand, creating calm in a difficult moment, advocating when someone feels unheard, or reminding a mother of her own strength. It has made me more patient, compassionate, and intentional in the way I care for people.

What do you hope families remember years after their birth?

I hope they remember how they felt. Birth details may become blurry over time, but I want families to remember that someone was there who listened to them, respected their choices, protected the space they needed, and believed in them. I want them to look back and feel that they were cared for.

What does community mean to you?

Community means showing up for one another. It’s knowing that we were never meant to navigate pregnancy, birth, postpartum, or parenthood alone. It’s sharing knowledge, resources, encouragement, and care so that families have somewhere to turn when they need support. It’s creating the kind of village where people genuinely feel like they belong.

Finish the sentence:

“Every family deserves…” Every family deserves to feel informed, respected, supported, and safe as they bring new life into the world.

What does being part of Royalty Birth Services mean to you?

Being part of Royalty Birth Services means that I always have a team of women to learn from, grow with, and share experiences with. Working alongside a team of Black women is especially meaningful to me because we understand the importance of advocating for, protecting, and supporting Black mothers with all the disparities they continue to experience in maternal health.

How has being a doula changed your life?

Since practicing as a doula, I’ve been able to experience what it feels like to do purposeful work. Being a doula allows me to do the work I believe God has called me to do—supporting families through one of the most transformative moments in their lives. My work as a doula feels both meaningful and enjoyable.

What do you hope families remember years after their birth?

Years after their birth, I hope families remember feeling informed, prepared, supported, and empowered throughout their experience. I want families to look back and recognize just how powerful and amazing a mother’s body is and the sacrifice it takes to bring new life into the world. Most of all, I hope they remember that their voices mattered and that they were supported not just during pregnancy and labor but postpartum too.

What does community mean to you?

To me, community looks like unbiased and unconditional support. Regardless of someone’s background, circumstances, or situation, true community means showing up for people while being compassionate and understanding.

“Every family deserves…”

Every family deserves to feel informed, prepared, and supported as they navigate one of the biggest family transition and prepare to welcome a new blessing into their family.

Being part of Royalty Birth Services means being part of something bigger than myself. It means having the honor of walking alongside families during one of the most sacred and life-changing moments of their lives. To me, Royalty represents compassion, advocacy, education, empowerment, and love. It means reminding every mother and family that they deserve to be heard, respected, supported, and treated like royalty throughout their birth journey.

How has being a doula changed your life?

Being a doula has changed my life by giving me an even deeper understanding of the power of presence. Sometimes people don't need you to fix everything they need someone to stand beside them, encourage them, advocate for them, and remind them of their own strength. Every birth experience teaches me something new about courage, trust, love, and resilience. Being invited into such intimate moments is something I never take for granted.

What do you hope families remember years after their birth?

I hope families may not remember every word I said or everything I did, but I hope they always remember how I made them feel. I want them to remember feeling safe, supported, empowered, respected, and cared for. Most importantly, I want mothers to look back and remember that their voices mattered, their choices mattered, and they were stronger than they ever imagined.

What does community mean to you? Community means showing up for one another. It means creating a village where families don't have to navigate pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and parenthood alone. Community is sharing resources, offering encouragement, advocating for one another, celebrating victories, and providing support during difficult moments. When we strengthen families, we strengthen our entire community.

Being with Royalty birth services I feel like I joined a sisterhood of caregivers. We are connected with providing support and education for women to have healthy births.

Yes being a doula has changed my life, It has given me more focus for women's health and assisting to support women in making healthy choices for birthing and aftercare for both mom and baby. Jacquelynn Wright

I hope families remember the things that they learned throughout the birthing experience, like how their doula helped them become comfortable with the process of birthing, giving support through the stages of the unknown, and what made them laugh throughout the pregnancy. We all should celebrate these moments and remember that we made it.

Jacquelynn Wright

My community means alot to me, getting older to realized how alot of our leaders and others spoke up for the needs of the community. Most people just wanted the basic needs provided for families to be able to assist with educational and development of their community. Now looking at life as an adult i realized it is up to my generation to uphold and finish what they started. I feel the structure is started within the community.

Jacquelynn Wright

Every family deserves their own story. Preserving their identity, traditions, and legacy showing that they existed. These are some of the characteristics that give family history and structure that makes families bonds unbreakable. Families respecting culture and heritage tend to carry traditions that extend through generations. As we live it is our responsibility as a family to acknowledge and respect our past, present, and future in order for traditions to continue.
