Monthly Doula Meetings:
We will have planned Monthly group doula meeting to discuss different subjects and an opportunity to talk about your experiences and ask relevant questions. In this respectful group setting we will not only learn from your mentor but from one another.
Monthly one-one Doula meetings:
​This one-on-one meeting with your mentor gives you that individualized time that you need to glean valuable information from your mentor and also ask pertinent questions that apply to you. This is a time where you can feel safe expressing your questions, concerns and self-doubt.
Attend Births with your Mentor:
This is a great opportunity to learn what happens at a birth and how to navigate the client’s experience but also the medical system.
You will also be included in the pre and postpartum visits.
Opportunities to meet potential clients:
We will have Meet the Doula events which will give you an opportunity to speak with potential clients. Clients will have the ability to speak(interview) with you on the spot. We would want you to sign up for the event so that you can attend.
Attend Breastfeeding Class:
Part of the requirements is that you participate in a breastfeeding class to elevate your skill to better support your clients in the postpartum period.
Attend Childbirth Class:
Mentees are encouraged to attend childbirth classes to help you better understand educating families while supporting their vision for their birth.
​Support with Reading Requirements and Doula certification:
This is an opportunity to help assist you with the sometimes-confusing paperwork that comes with doula certification. We will help you with the process to ensure that you have everything you need to become a certified doula.
